Microsoft Drops Xbox 360 Price

Microsoft drops the price for the Xbox 360 in Japan. The Arcade model has been reduced by more than $74.00.

Earlier this year, Microsoft reduced the price on its Xbox 360 Pro model from $349 down to $299. The Pro model also has a 20 gig hard disk.

The folks at NewsOXY has reported that Microsoft has reduced its console price in Japan. The article was found on their Xbox 360 News page where it said the Arcade model has dropped by $74.00.

"The console has been struggling in Japan due to Nintendo's Wii and the Sony PS3 which has higher demand."

The article went on to say that Wii sold more than 6.67 million units while the PS3 wold 2.32 million units. What did the Xbox 360 do?

"The Xbox 360 has lagged behind its Japanese rivals with 684,695 units sold so far in the country."

Let's face it, Japan is Nintendo and Sony-land. Microsoft can't expect to be a leader on their turf.
