It has been almost a year since China has shut out it's people from the popular open-encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Today, though, marks the first day that the Chinese people are allowed to fully access the Chinese-language version of the site.
A growing trend among internet super giants, companies such as Microsoft and Google have also compromised with the Chinese government on the same grounds. China believes that the information on the sites are a threat and block them if deemed so.
While all companies that comply have caught a lot of flak for such moves, each justify their decisions by saying that it is the only way to reach China's fast growing market.
