Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3 game, LittleBigPlanet was due to be released at the end of this week, but it seems that it's going to be delayed for just a little while longer. It has been confirmed that in the Singing Safari level of the game, a song is featured that contains two expressions found in the Koran, Islam's holy scripture.
{slot15}If the text was from the Bible, most people would likely praise it as enlightened, but for some reason, this is not the case with this text. The phrases are translated from Arabic to say "Every soul shall have the taste of death" and "All that is on earth will perish." And unfortunately, there are those who are offended that these lines might be in a song in a game.
Sony of course simply does not want ot be caught in the backlash of political incorrectness but this might be going a little overboard. Some would ask, "what about the freedom of speech and expression?"
Well according to the Sony press release, "We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologies for any offense that this may have caused." Sony then goes on to say that a new launch date will be announced shortly.
