Nintendo announced this week's basket of Wii goodness, and it includes one great WiiWare game and two good virtual console games that will take some of you a few years back into the 90's. Remember that you will be able to download these games for Wii Points at the Wii Shop.
The WiiWare game is Helix by Ghostfire Games, is a one-player game rated "E" for everyone by the ESRB and will cost 1,000 Wii Points. Helix is an innovative music-rhythm game and perfect for the Wii console. With up to 26 songs and a number of different skill levels, Helix lets the user take the Wii Remote in hand and work out to the music. You can punch, make circles, back fists, hooks, and a lot more too. With great visuals and music beats, there will be a lot of replay ability as you will try to unlock all of the songs and play them through three difficulty levels. This is a great way to get some exercise and have fun at the same time.
{slot15}First up on the Virtual Console this week is Y's Book I & II by TurboGrafx16 is a one-player game also rated "E" for Everyone by the ESRB, and costs 800 Wii Points. The story follows the adventures of a young red-haired swordsman named Adol Christin as he works to unlock the secrets of an ancient kingdom. You will fight monsters in dark caves or in castle towers using swordsman skills or magical attacks. But look out for the traps and other surprises that await you around many corners. This game includes the first two books of the TurboGrafx 16's story that captivated fans near and far.
The second game on the Virtual Console this week is Samurai Shodown. This game is a 1 or 2-player game and is rated "T" by the ESRB and costs 900 Wii Points. This is a 1994 fighting game that follows 15 samaurai on their quests. The player's attack power will fill as he fights, and when it is full, the player can then use a special fighting technique that has the chance to break the opponent's weapon, forcing the opponent to fight unarmed. One interesting fact about the game is that the character Cham Cham's voice was done by voice actress Reiko Chiba, who was an idol in the game community.
So now you have a full weeks worth of games to keep you busy in the few waning hours yet remaining of summer, before heading back to school. Make the most of it.
