Microsoft Quiet about Xbox LIVE Status Due to Lawsuit

Microsoft is being required to keep their lips sealed regarding repairs it is making to Xbox LIVE due to a lawsuit filed against them

Microsoft has had a class action suit filed against them and is therefor unable to release any information about the status of repairs to its Xbox LIVE servers. I know you've heard it before, "we cannot comment about a pending lawsuit", and this is the case here also.

The suit was filed by the Gibson Law Firm and it accuses Microsoft of breach of contract, breach of warranty, and negligent misrepresentation for not warning customers more properly about how their service could suffer outages if they had a massive increase in users. This has been the case since the holiday season of 2007.

Microsoft said that it saw more subscribers to its service than it ever had and as such had also seen some service outages. Not all of the outages have been in one large location at one time but have been very apparent to many Xbox LIVE users.

In fact to compensate for this, Microsoft has even offered to give every Xbox LIVE subscriber a free Xbox LIVE Arcade game at some undisclosed time in the near future. But it seams that this just isn't good enough for some attorney-type-gamers with the power to file lawsuits and attempt to dig deep into Microsoft pockets. So now no one will know the status until this issue is somehow resolved.
