Sony has announced that it will be expanding the PlayStation Store to PSP and also PC users.

Sony announced on Tuesday that it is expanding the PlayStation Store not only to PSP users, but also to PC users as well. The PlayStation store is an online source of downloadable games and other content that will no longer be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 only.

Sony said that this means that PSP users will now be able to download games at the store including classic PlayStation games as well as a series of new PSP games only available through the store. Sony further stated that existing PlayStation Portable games would also be available through the PlayStation Store. a couple of examples of an exclusive store PSP games include Syphon Filter: Combat Ops and Beats which are priced at $9.99 each.

This ease of shopping for PSP owners could be a very good move for Sony allowing users to purchase games without having to go to the store to buy them. Sony hopes that this move will boost sales this holiday season though there is yet no real way to know with this new and untried medium.
