The 24-year-old singer, who is currently in rehab for drug addiction, was invited to perform at the 2008 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Her "Back to Black" album has been nominated for Grammy nominations in six categories.
Amy Winehouse was present for a meeting with embassy officials on Monday, accompanied by her lawyer. Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected by the American Embassy in London.
Winehouse went into rehab after a video emerged of her evidently smoking crack cocaine. Last October she was arrested and fined in Norway for possession of cannabis.

A spokesperson for Winehouse said she has been treated well and fairly by the Embassy staff and thanks everyone for their support in trying to make the annual event happen. The spokesperson went on to say that there will be other opportunities to visit America in the near future.
Winehouse's six Grammy nominations include Record of the Year for Rehab and Album of the Year for Back To Black.
