Intel announced an improved wireless card for notebook PC users to share more data faster

Intel has unveiled its new and improved wireless card that will let the notebook PC user to share 5-times more data at twice the range of their current cards. This will facilitate users ability to download faster and stream more seamlessly.
{slot15}Its Intel's Next-Gen Wireless-N network card that is an embedded network adapter card that uses the IEEE 802.11 Draft-N standard. It will of course also operate with A, B, and G standards.
It was Intel's decision to launch the card early in order to support the user's demand for greater download bandwidth for more music and high-definition video, with of course more support for email and Web surfing. Intel is also banking on the Santa Rosa technology to make the company more profitable in 2007.
Intel stated that it expects the Wireless-N card to be popular today with consumers, as many enterprise users wait for the full Santa Rosa upgrade, he said. But that market alone can support the product, since it includes an estimated 740 million residential access points worldwide, and is forecast to grow at 30 percent a year from 2005 to 2010.
