The Wrath of the Lich King expansion is an absolute must have for anyone playing World of Warcraft. It opens up a whole new area, the land of Northreach, and raises the level cap from 70 to 80. Players have already flooded into the frigid northern landscape of Azeroth, Some already reaching level 80.

With a total subscriber base of 11 million, World of Warcraft is one of the biggest online games in the world. Now, with the release of its second expansion, the Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard sets records for selling boxes as well as bits. Blizzard sold more than 2.8 million copies in the first 24-hours.
One of the biggest problems with this kind of game is that often times the developer is stuck in a time crunch in getting the game out in time for the film.  And quite often that shows in the quality of the game.  However, Quantum of Solace did not have that feel to it.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is not based on any movie, nor is its story from any comic book story.  It is a completely unique storyline that immerses the player in this vibrant comic book world.  Return to the story is our old friend Venom.  But this time he has brought with him the ability to infect the residents of New York City, causing them to be a tangled mess that Spidey must deal with as well.

A new and unique action title developed by Shaba Games & Treyarch and published by Activision. Also available on Sony's PlayStation 2, 3, and PSP, as well as PC, and Nintendo's DS and Wii. Rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB.
Resistance did it all right. The weapon-switching system worked really well. Once you knew which direction each weapon was in, you could switch weapons as quickly as you could on a PC with the number keys. The game also featured a slower, more methodical pace, where players simultaneously handled overwhelming odds.

Over-the-top first person shooter published by Sony Computer Entertainment and developed by Insomniac Games. This game has a great single-play mode, plus a co-op multiplayer mode, with more multiplayer goodness up to 60 players. Rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB.
Naruto: Storm is, at its core, a fighting game. The basic combat mode pits teams of three against each other, with a main character that actually fights and two support characters that can be called in for a quick backup attack when you’re in a pinch.  It’s based on the traditional combat styles featured in Naruto.

University of Delaware research found though that many of those are using games to deal with emotional distress.  They added that these gamers might dealing with depression and drug use.  Though only one game was studied.

Online Gamers Healthier Than You May Think

In a study done at the University of Southern California, online gamers were studied. Results showed that many were healthier than the average American. Some also were more wealthy.
Combat in Fallout 3 was handled, to say the least, in a very fun way. At first, it plays like a standard first person shooter. Put your targeting reticule over your enemy and pull the trigger. But one of the fun features of the first two Fallouts was a targeting interface where you could shoot your foe’s body parts.

Fallout 3 is a first-person shooter / RPG hybrid. You get experience by killing things and doing quests. You also go up levels by getting enough XP, and every time you level up you get some skill points to spend any way you want and you can pick any perk for which you are eligible.
As with most DS games, a wireless sharing mini-game was added to Dragon Quest IV, in the form of a town you populate by swapping your ‘pioneer’ with other DQIV players. Your pioneer joins their town, their pioneer joins your town, and it’s a fun side game if you have friends to swap townspeople with.

I played the original DW4 a lot on my old NES system. The game was classic JRPG with a neat twist: instead of a single, linear story, the game instead featured five chapters, with each chapter telling the story of a different hero or group of heroes. The final, fifth chapter featured the story of the main hero.

A Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game developed and published by Introversion for the PC. Multiwinia takes the face out of war and just keeps the good parts. ESRB rating pending but likely another “E” for Everyone.

As the game has gone through several progressively better beta stages, more and more people are enjoying the changes.  But mostly they are enjoying the fact that this is not just another MMO.

Obama Citizenship Questioned in Court Case

Phillip J. Berg, former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania and a Democrat, has filed a suit in U.S. District Court in August, alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen. The suit claims that Mr. Obama, Democratic Presidential candidate was born in Mombosa, Kenya and not in Hawaii as his birth certificate claims. And if he is not a natural-born citizen of the United States, this would make Mr. Obama unqualified to serve as the President of the United States.
Xbox LIVE Primetime is a service where gamers will be able to compete online for real prizes.  Announced at E3 2008, Xbox LIVE Primetime allows players to compete in game shows.  These shows will only be available on the Xbox LIVE service.

Xbox LIVE Primetime service is facing delays. Microsoft is holding off to release the new service until November. The reason given is to create a smooth launch of the service.
Could this be political correctness run amuck?  The song was written by a devout Muslim and was not designed to offend.  But Sony is not taking any chances and will take out the song in order to not offend.

PS3 Game, LittleBigPlanet Recall: PC Run Amuck?

Sony's long-awaited PlayStation 3 game, LittleBigPlanet was set to release on the 24th of October. Now someone found that one of the songs in the game uses lines from the Koran. And so Sony has decided to recall the game and delay its launch in order to correct the issue.
The legal battle continues on between RealNetworks and the MPAA over RealDVD.  A federal judge granted the MPAA motion to require RealNetworks to temporarily suspend sales of RealDVD.  It looks like an uphill battle for RealNetworks and those who wish to make a copy of their DVDs.

Legal action taken by the MPAA forces RealDVD to suspend sales temporarily. RealDVD is designed to allow users to make a legal copy of their DVDs. But the Motion Picture Association of America believes it is a copyright violation.
Microsoft has never had a hiring freeze in more than thirty years of business. Employees claim that the company has suspended all department spending and hiring.
