Google has been under a microscope ever since they bought YouTube.com for pirated video concerns. Soon YouTube will see a new set of anti-piracy technologies to help copyright holders protect their property and throw a monkey wrench into unauthorized video sharing.
Google Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt said that Google is committed to offering copyright protection and that this is one of the company's highest priorities. Mr. Schmidt further stated that they have reviewed the issue and very soon are to roll out new technologies to address the issue.
No specific time-frame has been announced whether it will be weeks or months. Google acquired YouTube late in 2006, and had immediately announced plans to introduce technology to help media companies identify pirated videos uploaded by users.
