Activision announced that it recently became aware that some customers of the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero 3 did not receive the full stereo version of the game but instead received a mono version of the game. These customers will be receiving free replacement discs early in 2008.
It was an unfortunate incident but though the Wii version advertised "Dolby Pro Logic II sound on the game box, the Wii outputs only mono sound. But Activision is offering free "re-mastered" replacement discs to those who ask for it, but no details have yet been released.
Activision is currently working with Nintendo and planning on issuing an improved audio version on future versions of the game. They further stated that they will expect to have those re-mastered replacement discs available at no cost by early 2008 though again, no exact date has yet been announced.
