Mozilla has released a patch for Firefox. According to NewsOXY's Firefox page, the patch fixed 11 vulnerabilities and more than half were labeled critical. The patch is for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
According to NewsOXY, the Web browser had four stability bugs in the browser's graphics rendering, layout and JavaScript engines that can crash the program. Hackers could then exploit the program using malicious code.
"Firefox had four stability bugs in the browser's graphics rendering, layout and JavaScript engines that can crash the program and might be exploitable with malicious code."{slot15}
Mozilla also sent out a statement:
"Some of these crashes showed evidence of memory corruption under certain circumstances, and we presume that with enough effort at least some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code."
Users who are using Firefox version 2 are urged to upgrade to the latest 3.0.2 version of the Web browser. Another bug fixed was the famous "click-hijacking" vulnerability. This problem could be used to force users to download a malicious file.
