The latest ad in Microsoft's $300 million campaign is out. And so is Jerry Seinfeld. In is a PC Guy that looks vaguely familiar to the Apple ads.

Microsoft seems to have made a decision to change up the $300 million advertising campaign. And the changes do not include Jerry Seinfeld. The newest ad features a vaguely familiar looking PC Guy that is reminiscent of the Apple Mac ads.

Instead of focusing on the antics of Jerry Seinfeld, the company will now feature a "PC Guy", John Hodgman. The ad reportedly opens with PC Guy saying, "Hello, I'm a PC and I've been made into a stereotype." The reference back to the Apple ads is unmistakable.

Some might say that the gloves have come off now with the ad campaign in that Microsoft is now responding directly to the Apple attacks on Windows Vista. The Microsoft campaign is designed to increase the public confidence in Windows Vista, byt many are still trying to figure out just how the Seinfeld/Gates ads did that.

Along with the PC Guy, Microsoft will be featuring professionals that take pride in using Microsoft Windows including fashion designers, scientists, teachers, and even a shark hunter. Additionally more than 60 Microsoft employees will star in future ads, the substance of which have yet to be determined.

"By the way, I'm Capt. Maverick, and I'm a PC user!"

"Hey Jerry, I'm a PC Guy, and you're not!" It looks like Jerry and Bill just didn't do what Microsoft wanted in the ad campaign. Because Jerry got the boot.
