Bungie Day has been declared on July 7th, a day when Halo 3 again shall reign.

Happy Bungie Day to Everyone! Yes, this is the day when all us Halo 3 fans get our game back out and celebrate everything Halo 3. Including the prices dropping on the Legendary Map Pack to only 600 MS points. And to top it all off, our friends at Bungie are giving out gifts to celebrate Bungie Day; a new multiplayer map called Cold Storage and some additional Halo 3 goodies at no charge.

Cold Storage will remind many Halo players of an old map called Chill Out, in fact it is a remake of that map and can be downloaded for free along with seven gamer pics and a Bungie Day Xbox 360 dashboard theme, all as a gift from our favorite developer.

Halo 3 was released in September of 2007 and saw sales of more than $170 million in the first day, outselling it's predecessor Halo 2 which only saw sales of $125 million in the first day of sales.

Why July 7th some may ask? Remember that Bungie and Halo always had a thing for the number 7; the Master Chief was Spartan 117, the 7 Halo rings, and a few more instances of the number 7 that I think you will be able to find in the game if you look for it. If you read the books you will have an even greater understanding, but that being said, July 7th is just a great day to enjoy some great Halo 3 play. Cya in there!
