Florida attorney Jack Thompson has been disbarred in the state of Florida. Thompson is a controversial attorney who faught to have several video games banned. Among those games include BioShock and the Grand Theft Auto series.

Florida attorney Jack Thompson will likely be a Florida attorney only for another 30 days. That is when the order goes into effect to disbar Mr. Thompson permanently in the state of Florida.

The Florida Supreme Court upheld a referee's recommendation that removes one of the video game industry's most controversial attorney from practicing law in the state. The order basically means that he will no longer be allowed to practice law in the state and may never reapply for the bar in that state.

The court documents cited many offenses including a pattern of misconduct and further cited Mr. Thompson's complete lack of remorse. In the report, Judge Dava Tunis stated that Thompson did not "proceed within the guidelines of appropriate professional behavior, but rather uses other means available to intimidate, harass, or bring public disrepute to those whom he perceives oppose him."

The findings included that Thompson made false statements and accusations, repeatedly harassed anyone whom he considered opponents, and falsely accused others of the criminal distribution of sexual material to minors, often targeting Take-Two Interactive and Best Buy stores.

The court further upheld a fine against Mr. Thompson of almost $44,000.

Thompson sent out an email blast to media outlets that announced his disbarment that carried the subject line "Now the Fun Begins", indicating that he intends to continue his fight in some way. Thompson has filed a request with the U.S. District Court for a stay of the Florida Supreme Court order disbarring him.
