Konami has announced the addition of the original Metal Gear Solid to the PlayStation for $9.99 US. The action starts right away as downloads become available today.

The original groundbreaking tactical-espionage action game, Metal Gear Solid hits the PlayStation network today for a mere $9.99 US.
{slot15}Konami Digital Entertainment announced today that the original Solid Snake and Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima's groundbreaking classic will be on the PlayStation network today. The game which first started it all on the PlayStation system will now be coming to the PlayStation 3.
Metal Gear Solid is a 3D action adventure game that takes place in the southern Alaska region around the Bering Sea. The player takes control of Solid Snake, a retired military soldier who is ordered to infiltrate a nuclear weapons facility to eliminate FOXHOUND, a genetically enhanced Special Forces unit that has threatened to launch its nuclear weapon if the government does not cooperate with their demands.
