MTV Games, Harmonix and Electronic Arts are all ready to ship Rock Band 2 for the Microsoft Xbox 360.

Get your calendar set for the Rock Band 2 party on Sunday September 14th.

Harmonix, MTV Games, and Electronic Arts announced Wednesday that Rock Band 2 is shipping to retailers and your Rock Band 2 party starts on Sunday September 14th.

Rock Band 2 standalone software will make its highly anticipated debut on the Microsoft Xbox 360, September 14th being the North American launch. A week later, expect to see the standalone wireless drum set and guitars hit the store shelves. Additionally, heep an eye out for the Rock Band 2 T.V. commercial featuring AC/DC's rock anthem "Let There Be Rock", the same one that premiered during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. Rock Band 2 is raising the bar on the music game category with an incredible 300 songs available on the disc and on weekly downloads. Bob Picunko, Vice President of Electronic Games and Interactive Products, MTV said that no other music game can compete with Rock Band 2's music catalog. Mr. Picunko added, . "Mark your calendar, call your band mates, and get set for the best Rock Band party ever on Sunday, September 14th."
