Electronic Arts announced this week that they will be bringing the SimCity franchise to the Nintendo DS. The DS version of SimCity will make good use of all of the DS features including the touch-screen and stylus. One example is that the user will be able to put out fires by blowing into the microphone whole. It will also make effective use of the DS' wireless capabilities allowing players to communicate with each other.

SimCity allows players to create and control their own city, right in the palm of their hands. It will even include a wide array of recognizable international landmarks to spice up your city. The SimCity franchise first emerged in 1989 for the PC, and this new iteration was developed by EA's now-closed Japanese studio.

Takahiro Murakami, Producer of SimCity DS stated, “We are very excited to bring the SimCity experience to the Nintendo DS platform.” Murakami went on to say “The unique Nintendo DS functionalities inspired us to incorporate many new features to delight the most dedicated SimCity fans. The game is filled with fun surprises that will appeal to new and existing fans of the franchise.”
