The American Life League wants HBO television to fire Bill Maher after his refusal to apologize for insulting Pope Benedict XVI.

Fire Bill Maher, the new slogan created by unified efforts among Catholics, which was created by the American Life League on Friday.
Following his comments about the Pope and his visit to the United States, and the lack of apology on Friday, American Life League created a petition for HBO to fire Bill Maher.
American Life League has created a Web site where Catholics could go and sign the petition online.
{slot15}Over 8,000 signatures were collected to date calling on HBO to fire Bill Maher. The organization is also calling for Catholic HBO subscribers to cancel their subscriptions until Bill Maher is fired.
"Not only did Maher fail to apologize, he stepped up his insult of Pope Benedict XVI by saying that he swore an oath directly to Hitler. Maher made no apology and persists in his slander of the pope and the entire Catholic Church, and for that he must be fired," Judie Brown, president of American Life League was quoted.
American Life League was founded in 1979 as the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.
