Britney Spears Patient Records
The hospital where Britney Spears was admitted in late January has suspended some medical employees for breaking its privacy policy. The UCLA Medical Center, the hospital where Britney Spears was admitted for a psychiatric evaluation, has suspended some employees and may terminate others for looking at the pop star's medical records. The Los Angeles hospital issued a brief statement that all medical staff must sign confidentiality agreements in an effort to protect patient privacy. "When possible confidentiality breaches arise, UCLA immediately launches an investigation and appropriate disciplinary action would then be initiated," the UCLA said. " Due to the confidential nature of both patient and personnel issues, no further information is available." The hospital has already taken measures to fire at least 13 employees, discipline as many as six and could take action against six doctors for accessing computers to search through the singer's medical records. Under federal law, medical records can only be viewed by doctors and medical staff directly involved with the patient. Filed Under: Britney Spears News DS NewsShare Article Link:
