Comcast's html email portal, Comcast.net was hijacked by hackers late Wednesday night and Comcast was unable to regain control until sometime early Thursday morning. As of early Thursday evening, the Comcast portal was still feeling the effects of foul-mouthed hackers, as this screenshot of the portal clearly shows.
{slot15}The hackers started out by replacing the email portal and saying that they has "RoXed" Comcast. The further redirected people in and attempt to get people to visit another page that read, "KRYOGENIKS Defiant and EBK RoXed COMCAST. sHouTz To VIRUS Warlock elul21 coll1er seven."
It is unclear just how the hackers were able to hijack the domain of the United State's largest Internet Service Providers. It is also somewhat unclear as to the reason why the attack occurred though some speculation leads to the recent accusations of Comcast slowing downloads of anyone using BitTorrent software on a consistent basis for extremely large downloads.
What is clear is that Comcast lost control of its domain for several hours and is now working closely with authorities to track down the responsible parties who will likely be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
